G. Monarch

Newer to Durham’s lodge but not new to Durham, G. Monarch is a gloriously genderqueer butterfly that you’ll love to see and have to meet. A rare but natural phenomenon, G. Monarch is a particularly special part of a national priority species of butterflies.

Worth noting, the G stands for GYNANDROMORPH, meaning they possess both male and female characteristics, so don’t try to put them in any of the binary boxes — this monarch has the range and delights in those who enthusiastically affirm their rightful place in our transcendent queer ecology!

They enjoy dancing in the air, collecting fragrant flowers, and observing beavers in their natural habitat, so they are especially excited to attend the Beaver Queen Pageant and to join as the youngest addition to our esteemed panel of Beaver Queen judges.
