Beverly Woody

In celebrating 21 years of pageant play the Lodge slinks back to our early days to grunge up our first contest winner as celebrity judge. Beverly Woody knocked the doors off the pageant’s diversity closet by being found out after the competition that she was not a beaver. The clog routine was in fact nothing short of beaver drag. After much upheaval the crowning remained in place and beaver history was written over by a nutria.
With the confidence of that win, Beverly Woody went on to found the beaver nutria penguin bee organization known as BNPBQIA. All creatures can play or not play in the wetlands as our pageant has broadly proclaimed for 21 years. Not a few tears are shed each year as the roster of contestants continues to showcase the Let it Beave vibe of our community.
After a long slog in western ponds Beverly Woody is happy to be back at home in the backwaters of northern Durham county, planting up the creeksides with native pollinator friendly plants to keep that diversity in play. You will often find her at the North Carolina Native Plant Society functions spreading the good wood.
